Justice league | The new frontier | movie

The story takes place in-between the Golden Age and the Silver Age of DC Comics publishing history. It takes place in the 1950s of America, while our country is still in the Cold War and there is ever-present distrust within our government, even of our heroes. By the time the story begins, the McCarthy hearings have pushed the original Justice Society of America into retirement, Superman has become recognized by his fellow heroes as a government tool, Batman has become an outlaw, Wonder Woman has turned her back on America, and one superhero, the original Hourman, is dead. Meanwhile, a ancient and mysterious force known simply as “The Centre” (voiced by Keith David) that has been living in secret since the beginning of our planet, has become threatened by mankind developing the atomic bomb, and has concluded that “the sphere must be cleansed of them.” And all of this is told before and within the title sequence.
